Hi everyone,
My doctor and physical trainer have recommended that I take up yoga to increase my flexibility. My problem is that when I've taken yoga classes at my gym, I've found many of the poses difficult to do because I'm not a teeny slip of a thing. The instructors don't seem to have any recommendations for ways to modify the poses, so I end up frustrated, feeling klutzy, and tense when I'm supposed to be relaxed and more flexible.
Does anyone know of a yoga studio in Vancouver that has instructors who are fat-friendly, or even better, a class that is targeted for larger bodies?
Thanks in advance!

I'm a size 20 and I do yoga! If you find the right studio, you will find that the teachers don't care about size or ability as you will grow into it! Most studios will offer a free or half price first class so it's a great way to see if you will like them or not. A great one is Prana Yoga (if you are downtown or yaletown). Very down to earth and Shaktia (sp?), the owner, is great! you tell her it's your first time and she'll make sure you are doing everything right.
