Well the average size in N. America is a 14, but do you really think it's even close to than in VAncouver? I'd put money that it's a 10 or so, or smaller. This is the last of the malnourished, it seems!
THat luluboy must be off his rocker. Get this, ladies....
I went in there one time, and was b rowsing a table, and some girl working there came up to me and said REALLY REALLY LOUDLY: "um, excuse me. You're looking at extra small. Extra LARGE is over there" and waved her hand to "over there" like it was a pile of poo. I just about shat my pants laughing and said "hey sweetums I have big titties...considering 90% of your customers have big fake ones, what do THEY buy?" She looked shellshocked. woohoo!
The other thing is that lulusizes fit big. I'm an 8 there and definitely not that in other stores! Still, I'm not a customer of theirs and I don't give them my money. A friend of mine used to work with them in some higher up position somewhere and apparently one of the CEO people said that part of their business plan is to not make clothes that "fat" people can wear, because if fat people are seen wearing that brand, it devalues the brand. Nice eh?

I have to admit that I have made a personal boycott on lululemon. I'm in the 14 -16 range too. The thing that holds me back is the fact that it's already soo expensive. But with the exercise...I highly suggest belly dancing!! I have been doing it for about 4 years (not all that well, but doing it!) It's low impact and a lot of fun. There is a tribal aspect of it that absolutely was meant for 'bodacious' women. There is a bazaar(shopping) and a show on March 5th in Burnanby at the Bonsor rec centre. I believe that beginners and ALL sizes will perform. On something unrelated...I am a designer as well. I have been thinking about designing wedding gowns and possibley lingerie. Right now I design for exotic dancers (yes the sticks ;D) I have also been thinking about opening a store, but am a little nervous! Perhaps Barb and Lorna will give me some business pointers? We can work together somehow! Charlene www.fantasydancewear.com

If you want to take some fun dance classes, try bellydancing. . .it's a blast and you do get a workout!!
And on the workout gear, that's been pissing me off for years now!! I run, I put down up to $200 for running shoes, of course I'm going to shell out money for good workout clothes! However, if you've ever seen the prices at lululemon. . . . way over priced to start with! I have a yoga mat from there that I've been trying to take the tag off so no one knows it's lululemon. Besides, it would be good not to buy there now anyway, he's moving his shop to China to get all of the clothes produced there.
Anyway, enough of that rant, if you are about a size 16 to 20, try the Bay (I really like the bay). The extra large in a lot of the workout clothes will fit me for pants, not all the time for tops but sometimes!! The Running Room is also good, very helpful and they don't look at you like you are a fat runner, they just look at you like you are a runner, which is very wonderful, especially when you work out regularly! Sometimes the extra larges will fit up to size 20. . .it just depends on the cut of the pants and tops.

I am SO glad I am not some air headed tredoid who pours myself ( well, according to Lululemon's CEO I couldn't anyway) into spandex pants 'cause I think I'm all that! This guy is a PIG plain and simple. And, he says that producing larger sized clothing is about 30% more costly to companies than producing let's say a size 6. What a load of _ _ _ _ ( you can fill in the blanks ladies). If that is the case and smaller clothes are so much cheaper; I ask you this. Why are baby clothes so bloody expensive then? You know why, because they know that people will pay for something if they want it. Truth is, he is probably just concerned about image. If some " fat chick" is seen wearing Lululemon's logo on her bodacious butt, will the size 2 girls want to wear the same thing? To quote my brother in law; there are thin girls out that there that have no muscle tone, are out of shape and are unhealthy. You know what he calls them; :"skinny fat chicks". I am sorry, but if a woman wears a size larger than a 6 she is not necessarily "fat". My husband married me at 215 pounds, my heaviest ever, but I know he loves me at any size and loves the curves. I am currently 198, and I intend to lose a bit more to get back to a 12/13 ; what I was about 10 years ago. But I guess this will still make me fat in the eyes of some. Go figure why anorexia and bulimia are destroying so many great women's lives in our society today. " Anorexic magazines, it smells like girl, it smells like girl"-Hole
